E-signing florist contracts: what you need to know

Electronic signature of a florist quote on a tablet

Legal value, eIDAS and best practices: everything you need to get florist quotes and contracts signed online.

Getting a quote signed before ordering flowers secures cash flow and limits last-minute cancellations. E-signature speeds up that step without an in-person meeting or email scan.

In France, a dated quote accepted by the client acts as a contract. The challenge is proving that acceptance reliably and with a clear audit trail.

Legal value: signed quote = contract

Once the quote is signed (wet ink or electronic), both parties are bound to the price and work described. The document fixes the arrangement details and payment terms, so the quote must be complete before signing.

Official sources

  • DGCCRF : information avant la conclusion du contrat
  • DGCCRF : devis et obligations d'information
  • ANSSI : choisir le niveau de signature électronique

Best practices before sending the link

  • Check all mandatory quote details (SIRET, validity, excl./incl. VAT, deposit).
  • State the agreed deposit amount and its due date.
  • Attach or include terms and conditions if your business requires them.
  • Keep a copy of the signed document with timestamp.

The ideal flow: proposal → review → signature

The client receives a link, reviews the visual proposal and detailed quote, then signs on the same page. You are notified immediately, with no waiting for post or a blurry scan. Flolya brings proposal publishing and contract signature into one flow.

Frequently asked questions

Is e-signature valid for a florist quote?
A signature cannot be denied legal effect solely because it is electronic. Its evidential value depends on the process and records retained. Under eIDAS, only qualified electronic signatures have explicit equivalence to handwritten signatures; not every online signature is qualified.
Is a deposit required on signature?
It is not legally mandatory, but it is strongly recommended for weddings and large events. State the amount and balance due date on the quote.
What if the client doesn't sign?
Follow up before the quote expires and clarify the reservation conditions. A missing signature alone does not prove there is no commitment: other communications or actions may establish acceptance.
